So you're a student? Here's 6 reasons why you should attend Eastbourne DigiFest

You’re thinking about your career and the digital sector sounds like a kind of cool place to work (no cap!). You think Brighton and London are the obvious choices for job location, right? Wrong. Eastbourne is the wave!

Ok, we’ll come clean: we used ChatGPT to find some Gen Z slang!

But seriously, as a student considering your future career, you should consider Eastbourne as a credible option. We already have 3000 people working in digital in our town and we’re aiming to increase that to 10,000 - i.e. 10% of the population. We think it’s doable, and Eastbourne DigiFest is our way of kickstarting this.

So, why will attending Eastbourne DigiFest help you? Well…

  1. You’ll be in the same room as professionals already working in the sector.
They LOVE digital, talking about digital, answering questions about what it’s like working in digital. You can take the opportunity to find out everything you want to know.

  2. You’ll realise you don’t have to swap your varsity hoodie for a suit.
We’re pretty chilled out in Eastbourne. We love the fact we can finish work and be up on the South Downs or down by the beach for an evening stroll. We have a great work-life balance and aren’t stuck on trains commuting.

  3. You can find job opportunities.
Many of the companies exhibiting at Eastbourne DigiFest, as well as those attending as individuals, will be looking to hire - now or in the future. Have a chat with them informally, find out where you’d fit in well, and get your name on their radar ahead of your application. It works, trust us.

  4. You can understand the digital sector better.
Sure, you have dev skills. Or you might be a great marketer already. But what will really stand out when applying for jobs is your motivation, interest, and examples of business knowledge that will lift you above your competition. At Eastbourne DigiFest you can find out what’s going on locally in the sector and start to understand the practical applications of your skills.

  5. You can gain or improve on your skills.
Whether you’re a future developer, marketer, designer, animator, or business leader, there are talks and workshops to help you improve your skills. Or maybe you want to learn something new. Give it a try!

  6. It’s a free lunch.
As a student, we’re giving you a free pass to attend Eastbourne DigiFest, so we can support you in building your skills, knowledge, and local network. Plus we’re even giving you a free lunch.

In short, we’d love for you to attend and join our digital community in Eastbourne for the day to kick off your career in digital. Come along and see where your digital skills could take you.

100 student tickets are available from 24th April on Eventbrite. See you there!
